Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2009 Benefit

On August 31, 2009 my bff Greg Snow with We Rent Atlanta invited me as his guest to Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2009 benefit at the Fabulous W Atlanta Downtown and Residences.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Greater Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS partnership fund (AAPF). This event is the official kick-off to the fall social season in Atlanta.

The show featured high-end designers such Gucci, Prada, Marni, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Bottega Veneta, and Jason Wu (who was made famous by FLOTUS Michelle Obama).

I did see Jason Wu but i was on the otherside of the runway so i was not able to get a picture :(

What is a fashion show without gift bags (sorry i didnt take a pic) here is a sampling of the contents: BLISS "the youth as we know it moisture cream, doggy cookies (diamond devoured these things in two seconds flat), Spanx gift card for $50.00, pink t shirt from icebox thats all i can remember for know lol. I promise i will do a better job next time.

After the fashion show we headed up to the W private reception great food albeit hard to come by drinks flowed freely all night long and the music was pumping to the wee hours but this chica had to hit the bricks early in order to make it to work on time.

Ciao,

K

Are the Real Housewives of Atlanta negatively impacting Atlanta's Image?

Although I hate to disclose that I watch the Atlanta Housewives of Atlanta I never realized the negative impact that the show would have on the meeting and special events industry. Click here to read the article written on AJC.com.

"Party of the Century"-The Fabulous Story of Truman Capote and His Black and White Ball

While perusing the books at Barnes and Nobles I stumbled upon a book that I thought was fascinating because it actually documents the behind the scene look at an event in 1966 at New York's lavish Plaza Hotel in the Grand Ballroom hosted by the legenday Truman Capote the pint sized author of "In Cold Blood" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's". The fete was dubbed "Party of the Century"-The Fabulous Story of Truman Capote and His Black and White Ball" by Deborah Davis.

Although , Capote passed off the event as to honor Katherine Graham, publisher of The Washington Post in actuality the event was all about Capote and celebrating his recent book "In Cold Blood" unbeknowst to alot of people.

Capote singlehandley sent New York Society into a frenzy when they found out about the exclusive guest that would grace the party with one of the prized 540 invitations. Of course his fabled "swans" -his muses and confidantes Babe Paley, C.Z. Guest, Slim Keith to name a few were already on this list.

Some of his other well known guest were Lauren Bacall, Harry Belafonte, Candice Bergen, Richard Burton, Sammy Davis, Jr., Mia Farrow, Henry Fonda, William Randolph Hearst, JR., Lynda Bird Johnson, Mr. John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Gregory Peck ,Oscar De La Renta, Frank Sinatra, Andy Warhol.

The invitation set the whole mood for the event men had to wear black tie and women-black and/ or white attire. All guest were required to wear mask and women had to carry fans.

The decorations was very simple white and black with red table linen. The cost of the entire event was $16,000.00.

Ooh My Aching Feet !

As many event planners can attest too the one thing we complain about the most are our aching feet . All the walking back and forth(sometimes running depends on how big of a hurry you are).

Well ladies I ran across the Cole Haan shoes with Nike Air Technology what a beautiful collaboration of comfort + fashion you can't go wrong with these.

Here are my favorites :
